ICOM IC-F29SR PMR446 Two-way Radio

The ICOM IC-F29SR is a 2-way radio that needs no license (its license-free or PMR446) and is easy to use. Its perfect for business where there are shift workers or high rollover environments where radios are frequently passed between colleagues. This radio has a 36mm speaker that can output 800mW as standard so when someone is working where its noisy no problem, they will hear every communication easily through crystal clear audio.

In use the radio has a channel selector that is rotary, and that can easily be programmed to operate on any, or a selection of the 16 channels that the radio has, and what's more, the unit has a feature that can actually call another handset or radio and 'ring' like a cell-phone so that other users can communicate. And when you're using this feature, the radio handset actually knows when the other handset is within range.

Privacy is of the highest importance currently, the walkie talkie includes up to 16 codes (all selectable) that can scramble the communications between radios. And there's a CTCSS group call feature that with DTCS codes for group calls. This setup ensures that calls are to the same user and same channel.

The Battery
The Li-Ion battery BP-279 offers up to 21 hours of operation and with the supplied rapid charger BC-213 charges the BP-279 in around three hours.
